This week in the italian charts

I don't think I've listed to Italian charts for a while...so here we go - this week this is #1 in Italy

Despacito by Luis Fonsi ft. Daddy Yankee
Verdict: Nice beat.  I could do without the Autotune though ;-)

Best patch note ever!

STO is down for maintenance.  Last night the First Contact event was hard to get into, which I assume is one of the things being looked at.  I loved this patch note today:

Resolved an issue where the Heavy Escort Railgun was healing enemies instead of damaging them.
Healing your enemies would make for some really long battles - but this gives me a good idea for a console:  The Prometheus console:  (1) Makes you invincible, (2) restores all health to your enemies when they have just died.    This way you can grind for XP with unlimited enemies while tormenting them.  Well, now that I think of it, it's not every Federation in nature...and it's not very honorable, so Klingons are out too.  I guess Zeus would have made both a poor KDF player, and a poor member of the Federation.

On a side note, it seems that the next chapter in STO is announced:  Escalation is coming in late April.  The promo shot (above) reminds me a lot of SWTOR.

First contact day is upon us!

I saw, on the the STO blog, that First Contact day is almost upon us! For the event, STO will be doing the following:

Captains who participate will search the area for useful parts, just like Cochrane scavenged the pieces for the Phoenix. Using these parts in conjunction with a basic hull assembly, captains will make their own model of the Phoenix by combining engines, hull, and stabilizer parts found in various bits and pieces scattered about the re-creation of the historical settlement. Under the shadow of Zefram Cochrane’s statue, try to get the best parts possible, because the engines will make your model go faster, hull will allow it to survive longer, and stabilizers will keep it going at a better angle of launch.

No mention of what the prizes/giveaways may or may not be.  That said, when I saw this image on the STO blog, the first thing that came to mind was this scene from First Contact:

No charts this week, but rather facebook found music.

Storm the Sorrow by EPICA
Verdict: Generally this is not the type of music that I seek out (epic metal?), but it's got a good tune if you've need to be psychologically pumped
