Splinter Cell: Part II
Sunday, Jan 21 2018 10:32 | Entertainment, FanFilm, splinterCell, ubisoft, video games, VideoGames, youtube
Part II of the Splinter Cell fan film was released this past week with 20 minutes more of the prequel story. It was an interesting video to watch (and now I'm waiting for Part III which I assume wraps up the story), but some of the dialogue seemed to be a little odd for the character of Sam Fisher and it sounded a little more like a generic action hero. Perhaps we can write it off as this being a
Star Trek Continues E11 "To Boldly Go: Part II"
Well, the finale of Star Trek Continues is here. I really wish that this series had had a handful more episodes before this grand finale - which ties in TOS with the movies, but oh well...axanar ;-) . The finale was actually quite good. I was hoping we'd see more Kirk in a TMP uniform, but I guess not. This series is worth seeing from start to finish now that is it done (in

I came across this Trekzone Axanar interview. This is part II, the Alec Peters part, Part I was a bit of a train-wreck. You do get some clips from part I with Alec, but it's clear that Alec shouldn't be doing interviews (or be online really) - the focus should be on finishing these two mini Axanar parts now that the big movie can't be done. By the way, where are the perks? Some perks should
Star Trek Continues E09 "What Ships Are For" by Star Trek Continues
A new episode of Star Trek Continues is out! Sad that there are only 2 more left... :-/
Chasing the infinite sky
I came across this (really short) fan film a few weeks ago but I had not had time to watch it up until now. The design aesthetic is definitely NuTrek, but that doesn't bother me. It does fit within the CBS/Paramount fan-film guidelines, and in doing so it really lacks much engagement. The more brutal star trek fans out there say that it sucks, for a variety of reasons, including that it's
Star Trek First Frontier trailer
I came across this trailer for a fan film which seems to be following the Enterprise's first captain, Robert April. Looks interesting and well made. Wonder what the final one episode will look like :-)
Runaway, a short film

One of the film related kickstarters that I had supported a while back released their film. I actually like it a lot, and it could easily fit into the Humans universe!Have a look, share far and wide :) And, if you like it, and are a Trek fan, have a look at Tommy's prior work (Star Trek Horizon)
The renegades are coming!
It's been about a year since the premier episode of Renegades (formerly Star Trek: Renegades), but the new one is coming out in a couple of weeks. The series has gone a transformation from something set in the Star Trek universe to being its own thing, thanks to certain lawsuits over fan films... I am curious to see how things tie together, or if this will be just a reboot of the fan series
Star Trek Equinox...no more
Well... I guess this particular one is confirmed (at least on Trek.fm's Babel Conference page) as being defunct. The video production was cancelled (for whatever reason), and I guess it's not going back to its "roots" as an audio drama? Let's see if it flies. Disappointing :-/

What happens when Mario dies? Something found via facebook this weekend :-) Happy Halloween to you out there :-)
CEASE And DESIST: A Star Trek Fan Production
ROFL! This is pretty funny ;-) I saw it muted and it seemed dumb, but with the audio on it's pretty funny :-) Reminds me a bit of the Axanar parody a month or so ago back.
Fun-O-Rama - A Futurama Fan Film
This came across my radar recently: a live action futurama fan film (probably just a trailer, but still). There is something odd and creepy about it, but it did get a laugh out of me :-)
Megaman fan film

Seems like this month's LootCrate futuristic theme comes with a MegaMan fan film to pump us up ;-) I haven't seen a megaman fan film before (or have I?)
Now that's some fallout!

Late last week CBS and Paramount put forth official guidelines for Fan Films using Star Trek as their basis. There was the usual firestorm on the forums facebook on his in the various Star Trek fan film communities. This seems to have had a really huge chilling effect on all current fan film productions, including audio dramas. I chose to not really participate in this discussion
Renegades on final approach
Seems like the whole Paramount/CBS Lawsuit vs. Axanar is having additional ripple effects (at least that's my take on it). Along with the two cancelled fan productions I mentioned last week, Star Trek Renegades posted to the Kickstarter announcements yesterday some bittersweet news. First, they will be making both episode 2 and episode 3 (now called Part I and II of the episode), even though
Adieu Federation Rising...
Not very fresh news, but it seems that Federation Rising, the sequel to the Star Trek fan film "Horizon" has been mothballed. There was a lot of excitement about this but it seems that CBS's lawyers advised Tommy Kraft (the creator) to not pursue this project - assuming that the Axanar case is pending, and won't have its day in court until spring 2017... So...the count down has reached zero on the
Stalled Trek: Prelude to Ax'd-We-Are (Parody)
A puppet based parody of Prelude to Axanar (a fan film). Pretty funny ;-)
Captain Pike, where are you?
It's been a while since we've heard any peeps from the Captain Pike star trek fan film. That's the one thing I dislike about crowdfunded stuff (even if I don't contribute to it) - the lack of information or progress reports. It would be nice to know that the people behind it are still chugging along - even at a slow pace.
Star Trek Farragut - new episode out
The Crossing, which I think is the penultimate episode of Star Trek Farragut (or is it Starship Farragut?) is now available on YouTube! And, guess what? It's a mirror universe episode! Can you tell I like the mirror universe cross-overs? ;-)I am wondering if their next endeavor is going to use the Wrath of Khan style uniforms, or if they are going with those funky 70s inspired Motion Picture
Star Trek Horizon is out!

[SPOILERS - if you have not see it yet, go see it] A couple of summers ago, while driving around in Greece, I was listening to Trek.fm (best time to try new podcasts is when you are driving a lot!) In one of their shows (the continuing mission) they explore fan made productions that continue the stories set in the Trek universe - and Star Trek Horizon was one of these productions. After a long time
Star Trek Renegades (near the end?)
The Star Trek: Renegades kickstarter, as of this writing, still has about 10 days to go, and they still need another $100k to raise their minimum goals for creating episode 2. The stretch goal for this, at least the first one, is $600k, which I really doubt that they will make. The first stretch goal means that they will also make episode 3 in this round. While the story of Renegades
Captain Pike (Kickstarter #2)
Tuesday, Nov 17 2015 04:00 | crowdfunding, Entertainment, FanFilm, Films, Sci-Fi, StarTrek, Television
Seems like Captain Pike is back, with a second kickstarter (or is it an indiegogo campaign?) going to finish off episode 1. It looks quite promising, and it's the second fan film (or independent Star Trek production in case people are offended by the term 'fan film') that takes a character from the original Trek series, that we've seen once on screen, and getting their back story. Wonder how
Star Trek Horizon, full trailer (pretty interesting)
Sometimes with fan productions you don't know if (and when) they run out of steam and something never materializes. I had put Star Trek Horizon on the back burner (not sure if it had lost steam), but they recently released a full length trailer which looks pretty amazing!
