Another E3 2018 announcement - Microsoft's Halo Infinite. I've liked all Halo games I've played up to now, even though I have not completed all of them, and I have yet to play Halo 5: Guardians, so I was pumped about Halo: Infinite. I didn't know it was coming, I was surprised and elated at the existence of an announcement trailer...and then it tell flat. The trailer tells me nothing of

I came across this video on Reddit the other day. I thought it would actually be a much more in-depth analysis of the game series, but it just seems like a whole lot of kvetching about Halo 5. Since I don't yet have an xbox one I can't really say much about Halo 5, but Halo 4 wasn't really all that bad - if I remember correctly.

This past weekend (and after about 20 hours of playtime) I finished Halo Wars on the xbox 360. I've been kind of avoiding Halo Wars because it's an RTS game (real time strategy) and I haven't really gotten very much into an RTS since Warcraft II: The tides of darkness (which I played back in 1996 on my Performa 635). In this game, unlike most other Halo games, your protagonist is just a regular

Right before classes started a few weeks ago I decided to start playing Halo 4. Given the amount of games I ended up getting on Black Friday last year it was a bit tough to decide what to play next, but I thought that since the next Halo isn't coming for a while (and probably will only be on xbox one), this seemed like a good game to play for the story. This was the first Halo game I've played on the

It's not often that I go back to older xbox games (original xbox) to play a game that doesn't exist on the 360, but Halo 2 was an exception. I had started off with Halo 3, which was a little confusing (given that I didn't have the storyline established), moved on ODST and then to the prequel (Halo: Reach), which gave me some more information, and then to the Anniversary remaster. For reviews of those

With the release of Halo 4 everyone seems to be talking about it. In one of the video game podcasts that I listen to there was mention of the Anniversary edition of Halo which contains hidden terminals that augment to story (give you some background) and if you've watched all of the terminal videos (supposedly) your enjoyment of Halo 4 will be greater. I did, just by accident, find one of

OK, if you weren't watching before, you should watch this before picking up a copy of Halo 4. Forward unto dawn is not a prequel (I don't think), but it gives people a little more information about the Halo universe. As someone who's played most Halo games, and have read more Halo books, this was certainly an interesting live action show. I am not sure what it cost to make this, but I would certainly

I came across this live action launch trailer for Halo 4 the other day. It's pretty interesting, and it makes me wonder if, as part of Halo 4, we will see more flashbacks from the Master Chief's past. Having read all Halo novels up to this point, I know what has transpired (at least from a novelization point of view) up to this point and how Master Chief became Master Chief. As with

This last weekend I went through and I really spent some time with the anniversary edition of Halo: Combat Evolved. I really wanted to finish the story arc and start Halo 2 (which amazingly seems to run without any issues on the Xbox 360). The story of Halo seemed quite interesting, and (much to my annoyance) the final sequence was one where you had to drive a warthog (which I hate driving) with

Once I completed Halo: Reach I decided to play through Halo 3: OSDT, just to keep the story in that Universe going (plus I was really engrossed in the mythology of Halo). The game was rated for 4 hours of play, which means that I must really stink because it took me several days of playing this game in order to complete it ;-)Initially I was a little put off that the game only took place in New

This past weekend I spent some time wrapping up Halo: Reach. This was a game that came with my Xbox last Thanksgiving (Black Friday deal). To be honest, I don't know how high on my list game would have been had it not come with my console, but I am sure glad it did! I had a great time with it.When I first started playing it (around Christmas break), I was sort of into it. I was following
