In my quest to play through as many Assassin's Creed games as possible, I got a Nintendo 3DS last year (well, I've been wanting one for a while and this was just a good excuse), and hit eBay for cheap (used) copies of the game. There have been 2 Assassin's Creed games for the DS, one taking place in Altair's time, and one in Ezio's time. I chose to play Ezio first, and go with the other
Of 2do and lock screens...
Since iOS 5 came around, I have been without a Jailbreak. In the grand scheme of things, there are some things that I do miss from the jailbreak, including biteSMS (the ability to send an SMS from anywhere) and LockInfo (which I had paid for). One of the things I noticed with my lack of Jailbreak is that I don't use "2do" as much. 2Do, is a nifty little to-do application on the iPhone and
Welcome to iOS5
Well, since MobileMe is inching closer and closer to its inevitable death, I decided today to update my iPhone 3GS to iOS5, and move my data to iCloud. I attempted at jailbreaking my iPhone, but since it was jailbroken the update process eluded me in the short time frame that I had to update, so I decided to just go with stock iOS. My iPad hasn't been jailbroken, and iOS5 is not bad on it,
updated to 4.3.3 and jailbroke too!
This past weekend I opted to bite the bullet and update my iPhone, which was on 4.0.1. I had been waiting for Ultrasn0w to support the newer baseband, but I noticed that I could use pwnageTool and retain my baseband. So I backed up my iPhone to retain my data (and my apps) and I started the pwnageTool process. I successfully created an image that I could put on my iPhone. Then the fails
End of the iPad experiment
OK, so the two week loan of the iPad has come to an end. What have we learned? Quite a lot actually! I think the phrase that sums it up is this: "it's a nice device to mess around with, but not nice enough to buy because you can't easily produce on it"Now of course your milage may vary but this is what I found:First of all the lack of a Greek keyboard was really inconvenient. Also not being able
There is more than one way to skin an iPhone
OK, bad pun! With my recent jailbreaking I decided to have a look at Winterboard and themes (aka skinning) on the iPhone. Back in the days of System 7.5 (all the way up to MacOS 9) there was a shareware program called Kaleidoscope that allowed you to change icons, windows, buttons and other UI elements of the MacOS. Copland, the original MacOS 8 that was never released was supposed
One week jailbroken.
So, it's been one week since I jailbroke my iPhone. I decided to jailbreak it since I am already out of warranty (so if it broke I'd have to pay for a replacement anyway), and jailbreaking as made easy by going to jailbreakme.com, sliding the slider over and a few minutes later I was done.Did I jailbreak because of some sort of moral or philosophical reason? No, not really. I just wanted to try it
iControlPad - cool!, despite the clunkyness
Last week I came across this video of the iControl Pad, a peripheral for jailbroken iPhones that gives you a joypad for your iPhone. This enables you use emulators to play all the great games of yesteryear.Despite the clunkyness, the control pad seems quite usable, and it appears to have a built-in battery to keep your iPhone charged while you game away! I never really thought of playing old games
