Mac Classic Schematic - the history version
I came across this the other day. It's a print with a cross-section of an Apple Mac Classic. Inside this is (apparently) a miniature of the history and legacy of the Mac. Pretty interesting (and it's about $44). Maybe something for Christmas ;-)
Apple IIgs OS 6.0.2!
Well, it's been a long time (22 years and counting to be more precise), but it seems that someone has patches the Apple IIgs OS, which reminds one of the original Mac System UI to System 6.0.2. You can read more about this update on A.P.P.L.E.'s website. As much as I loved the Apple IIgs OS, I am surprised that people still use it. Then again, I still have my Apple Newton 2100 and there
The future looks so...past!
Going through my Pocket reading list this morning I came across this Concept video, which seems to be produced by Apple in 1987. Today it looks a bit like a parody, but it was still worth a look. The funny thing is that 1997 in this video seemed quite "off" from what real 1997 was. I was surprised to see so many computers looks like the Mac II. The other interesting thing is that
More classic goodness, in your web browser
Well. As if running MacOS 6 in vMac on your smartwatch wasn't enough, if you are craving some classic operating systems check out PCE.js which allows you to run MacOS 6 in a web browser, as well as Windows and DOS. I wonder what my younger self would think of this if I had seen this 20 years ago... Now it's time to start emulating Amigas, IIgs, and OS/2. If you feel nostalgic for Windows
Macintosh II on Android Wear

I guess it was only a matter of time before some ported emulators on Android Wear. This one is a port of vMac, the Mac Classic emulator which I think runs System 6 and System 7. On a touch-screen, with touch screen controls, it's not all that great. However, if someone could figure out a way to pair a bluetooth keyboard and mouse to it... that could be something. Of course the utility
Back to Resident Evil
I never owned a Playstation 1, but I did have a friend who did back then. Back then I was also more into platform games like Super Mario, or beat-em-ups like Street Fighter, not so much into the survival horror game genre. I did own Alone in the Dark for my Mac, which I now realize was a survival horror game ;-)In any case, having played the demo of Resident Evil 5 on my xbox, and having listened
Syndicate on the xbox - return of a classic!
Classic SyndicateThis past week I came across a mention of the game Syndicate for the xbox 360 (and PS3 and PC obviously). Back in the day, I remember playing the original on my friend's Amiga (and not liking it much), but as soon as I got my own computer (a Performa running System 7.5.3) and I got over the learning curve of the game I went on to complete it. As far as I
There is more than one way to skin an iPhone
OK, bad pun! With my recent jailbreaking I decided to have a look at Winterboard and themes (aka skinning) on the iPhone. Back in the days of System 7.5 (all the way up to MacOS 9) there was a shareware program called Kaleidoscope that allowed you to change icons, windows, buttons and other UI elements of the MacOS. Copland, the original MacOS 8 that was never released was supposed
