I've been debating which game(s) to move onto next on the xbox now that Assassin's Creed Syndicate is (mostly) done. I realized the other day that the "free" games that we get on xbox live gold aren't really totally free. You can claim games for free when they are available, and you can enjoy them, for free, so long as you have an active xbox live gold membership. Considering that
Stripping away the nerd-cred
A recent comic I came across this past weekend. It made me laugh a bit, but it also made me wonder: when did we turn a page as a society where we broadcast our every move... How did this happen? (not an "oh the horror!" type of question, just curious)
Assassin's Creed (the movie) | a brief review
Last week I headed off to the movie theaters to see the new Assassin's Creed movie, which I have been waiting for with great excitement for a while (now, if only the Splinter Cell movie were to come out soon!). We also went during the day when there were only about 10 of us in the movie theater (seems like a waste, but I did like having more room to spread out, and if I laughed out-loud it wouldn't

OK...yes...I am still talking about Spain even though I've been back for two weeks now ;-)ID4: 2I am catching up on some things that I wanted to blog about while I was away - namely in-flight entertainment. Heading over to Europe is usually sleep-time on the plane, so I don't get to see a ton of movies, but coming back we're going back in time (so to speak) and that allows for some additional
Meanwhile Thor was being a normal mortal...
What Thor was doing during the events of Captain America: Civil War. LOL. :-) This came by way of faceboook...

Star Trek Beyond thoughts
Last week I went to see the new Star Trek movie in the theater, called Star Trek Beyond. Oh yeah - spoilers ahead - you've been warned :-)So anyway, prior to going to see it I heard from some that it was so-so and I heard from others that loved it. I was prepared to be disappointed but I actually liked this film a lot! The saddest part of the film was watching Anton Yelchin on screen as
Bill and Ted meet Pokemon
A little cross-over humor from last week's video game comics :-) Bill & Ted meet bulbasaur and squirtle ;-)
Independence Day humor
A little humor in comic strip form about the movie Independence Day 2
"The War of 1996” | A United World News Special
I love this Independence Day sequel promo. Looks and feels like a news reporting segment. It gets you immersed into the alternative reality of the world. Can't wait for the movie to hit theaters!
The new star wars ain't bad!
While I am not a huge Star Wars fan, episode VII (The Force Awakens) seemed like an interesting film from the trailer so on new year's day Kristin and I were off to see it in IMAX 3D. Prior to this I had seem some of the previous films. From the original trilogy I'd give a new hope 3 stars, empire strikes back 4 stars, and return of the Jedi 3 stars. From the prequels the Phantom Menace
Star Trek Beyond - first trailer

Well, the first trailer for Beyond is out... and it looks like Mission Impossible in Space. It's not that it's bad. I like the trailer - but it' just very generic looking. It looks like a generic, space, action movie that just happens to have the Star Trek logos and crew in it.Maybe other trailers in the future will be more indicative of what the movie is actually about.
Woah! Independence Day: Ressurgence!
Just caught this on one of my facebook feeds - a trailer for the sequel to Independence Day. This looks like a pretty fantastic sci-fi film (and I hope it's a great sequel). I remember seeing the original in the theaters one of my first summers back from Greece :)I did notice a noticeable absence of Will Smith though...
Terminator timelines explained
Another youtube find. This one explains the the timelines. No explanation of where the Sarah Connor Chronicles fit in though... As Janeway said - time travel gives me a headache ;-) Video curtesy of "New Rockastars" on youtube.

I came across this movie trailer the other day for a Warcaft movie. I've never been much into World of Warcraft the MMORPG, I have an aversion to paying montly fees for playing games (which is why I like free-to-play games like Defiance). The last time I played warcraft, it was WarCraft 2 on my Performa 635 and it looked like this:Watching the trailer I got vibes of Avatar and Lord of
Best lines from Haiku Tunnel
Haiku Tunnel was sold to me as "the next office space," but it was clearly not. It was a so-so movie (perhaps because I was expecting Office-space-like humor) but it did have a couple of great moments. The one that really stands out for me is this one.- You're going to go back to your desk- settle down- FOCUS!- catch up!
Priest, the movie: it was...OK
I took the opportunity this week to watch Priest, a movie that I had anticipated but never watched in the theaters. I've read most of the manga (save the last book) and I can say that the movie is not faithful to the manga (despite not remembering much of the story, I could remember that much!). The movie did stand on its own (at least as an action film), and the character of Black Hat (Carl
Mission Impossible-Ghost Protocol... Can't wait!
I can't wait for this weekend, Mission Impossible in IMAX goodness! OK. It is quite possible that this film may suck big time but I am a big fan of the series. I used to watch the television version with Theo Penglis when I was in Greece and I have seen the other 3 previous films a few times. Back in high school my computer science 101 final project was to program the interface seen at
