One last hoorah for April fool's!
OK, I lied - this will be the last 2018 post on April Fool's corporate jokes. The last two things come from Ikea, and from Sony. The Playstation Board game (would love to know the heuristics and game mechanics on that one!), and the Ikea (IoT?) Toilet and Laptop.

Well, in a couple of weeks Raptr is pulling the plug on the video-game social network which originally aimed to bring together a more unified view of gamers by allowing people to track the amount of time they put into playing games, showing off their achievements outside of closed and platform-specific views, and bringing people who play similar games together. I actually liked this quite a

I love the whipping that the Playstation Vita gets from time to time ;-). It's not that I didn't want the system to succeed, but between the lack of support and the many proprietary features...well it was begging to be on top of the dirt pile :-)

Back when I was a teenager I was reading about this collaboration in the gaming magazines of the time (the few that I could afford to buy from the UK when I was living in Greece) and I could only imagine! Engadget did find one of these layout around the video is below. Pretty cool to actually see one. The rumors behind this (and the lack of internet to verify this info) also made

This isn't laugh out loud funny - but it did manage to get a chuckle...
Vintage Tech - Sharp Zaurus

I wasn't quite sure if I should write this post in English or in Greek. I've been focusing my #metanastis posts in Greek as I have been recalling my experiences as a reverse immigrant back to the US. Most things deal with acculturation, school, things that were different, new, or peculiar to me at the time. One of the things that I really liked was gadgets...however I tend to write
Yes, Metal Gear is odd...

One of my favorite game series is the Metal Gear franchise. Even though I haven't played all games, because some seem to be Playstation Exclusives, like Metal Gear: Solid (PS1) and Metal Gear 4 (PS3), I've played enough to get the gist of the story - which is thoroughly confusing. Here is a quick recap to help put the story in order for other fans of the franchise.
Back to Resident Evil
I never owned a Playstation 1, but I did have a friend who did back then. Back then I was also more into platform games like Super Mario, or beat-em-ups like Street Fighter, not so much into the survival horror game genre. I did own Alone in the Dark for my Mac, which I now realize was a survival horror game ;-)In any case, having played the demo of Resident Evil 5 on my xbox, and having listened
Cost of video games
Last week seemed to be the week of the PS Vita as it was discussed on pretty much every single podcast I listen to (and some I don't listen to!) The main thing that the tech people discussed was not the capability of the device (because it seems to be quite capable) but rather the relevancy of the device. In a world were iPhones, iPads and Android devices (and now Microsoft with Windows Phone
Last week I was wondering if anything came out of E3 that was worthwhile. I honestly did not know that E3 was even happening! I had connected my XBOX360 to the web to see if there were any firmware updates to be done, and I saw some xbox live gold special, $2 for a 2 month subscription, and E3 special. In any case, this piqued my interested and I was wondering what was happening with the next
