Stargate Origins trailer
It seems that prequels are the new rage when it comes to sci-fi on TV. Here is the most recent trailer for Stargate: Origins (no...nothing to do with the Book of Origin and the Ori). It seems interesting, and hopefully it goes beyond to 10-12 mini episodes (10 minutes each) that it is originally planned to run. I still want them to do a post Universe show (maybe even go back to the Destiny!)
Awesome, awesome, cross-over!

Last week on Reddit I came across this image, which makes for an interesting cross over between the Assassin's Creed universe and the Stargate University. The next game in the Assassin's Creed series hits the consoles this fall and (as the name suggests) it goes back to the start of the Assassins (and probably the Templars), and the aliens who posed as gods... The origins take place in Roman
3D printing...a mild success...
The other day I decided to test out my university's maker space where they have a varied assortment of 3D printer sizes. I've always wanted to 3D print something...well...since I saw one at a conference, but I didn't have the opportunity up until recently. We've had the maker space for a while, but it hasn't been high on my priorities. So, now that the semester is coming to an end,
Stargate Atlantis comic out!
A while back, on Kickstarter, I had seen a campaign to fund a continuation of Stargate: Atlantis. I was intrigued, but the campaign had already ended. The other day, while browsing the sci-fi section of my local comic book store, I saw the first issue of this comic out. I don't generally buy comics in their "floppy" form, and I opt instead of buying collections that are more in book

[SPOILERS - if you have not see it yet, go see it] A couple of summers ago, while driving around in Greece, I was listening to Trek.fm (best time to try new podcasts is when you are driving a lot!) In one of their shows (the continuing mission) they explore fan made productions that continue the stories set in the Trek universe - and Star Trek Horizon was one of these productions. After a long time

Recently I finished watching the show Quantum Leap. The show ran from 1989 to 1993, which means that I barely missed it when I returned to the US, and no television channel was showing it in Greece prior to that. However, it was one of those shows that was referenced by the teachers when I was in high school, and by others in general society. This means that I also missed any references made to that
Well...I guess it's adieu to Defiance and Dominion

Awwww, nuts!As I was browsing my RSS feeds the other day I came across a news story that reported that both Defiance and Dominion, both SyFy channel series, have been cancelled! Come on Syfy! First Stargate, now this? ;-) What do you need more airtime for sharnados? LOL.Spoilers ahead -So, Dominion only got two seasons. The show was based, sort of, around the notions of the movie Legion,
End of the Iconian War
Tuesday, Sep 29 2015 04:00 | Games, MMORPG, online, SciFi, Stargate, StarTrek, video games, VideoGames
Well, the end of the Iconian War is upon us! The story arc that started with New Romulus a couple of years ago is now seeing its conclusion. During this arc we've explored ruins under New Romulus, we've discovered Dyson Spheres (two of them, in-fact) we've fought the Elachi, the Hirogen, the Undine, the Voth,... and the Iconians (wow, that's a lot of people to fight), and we've
Andromed | Re-viewed
Back when I was an undergraduate, and working two jobs and going to school full time, I had started watching another Roddeberry show called Andromeda. Since my schedule was irregular, and Andromeda may have shifted time-slots I wasn't quite sure when I'd be watching the show. Sometimes I caught it on the regularly scheduled time on the WB, and other times I'd miss it because of work (or traffic
