Windows Mobile. So much promise...So much frustration ;-)After a hiatus from Windows Mobile (after mu iPaq), I had decided to try windows mobile again. At the time HTC seemed to be the golden child of the industry when it came to windows phones. They made reference designs that other companies could use or rebrand. One such design, which caught my eye, was the HTC Blue Angel which

Back when I started my graduate studies, I decided to leave the Apple Newton behind (I know, sacrilege, eh?) and get a more "modern" PDA. While my Newton did support unicode (probably the first platform to do so natively, I think), the unicode was not implemented, so typing in Greek was a pain. I had to either use Greeklish, or use the Symbol font to display contacts (which made my non-Greek

I actually I thought I had most of them, but then I came across a list created by one of the game's other players and saw that I was missing a considerable amount. After clearing out the retired accolades (ones that you can't get any longer), and the ones that you can in theory get, but you need

It took a while, but this kickstarter is almost here (to be released at the end of May). I haven't been playing the betas (even though my kickstarter pledge allows me to) to get totally immersed when it's released. It's been a while since I played a game of this sort (since Descent, actually!)
Microsoft: where mobile operating systems go do die
I am not sure if I was revising something on Feedly that I had not read yet, or if this crossed one of my feeds last week, but the story was about Windows Mobile 10 being taken off life support (it wasn't this story, but it gives you an idea). I've come to the conclusion, over the past decade, that Microsoft (just like Sony) just isn't good at Mobile. They've given it a valiant try with Windows

Escalation hit the interwebs last week, and having played a bit this weekend it's not bad! The Smoke & Mirrors mission reminded me a little of Star Wars (the aesthetic), and a little bit of Captain Planet (the "don't mess up your planet by polluting, Kids!)I played a bit in the competitive warzone queues and the space one is definitely my favorite or the two. The ground missions (invisible

A while back I had bought Max Payne 3 on super sale for my xbox 360, so I thought it a good idea to go back and play the previous two. Even though I have the original xbox discs for Max Payne, and Max Payne 2, it seems that the backward compatibility was throwing up some hiccups for the original Max Payne. Luckily Humble Bundle had it on super sale ($2?) so I got it for steam.Max is a

Since an Xbox One is not in my near future, I decided to get the Assassin's Gold Pack (on sale of course) which included both Unity and Syndicate. After about 2 days of downloading Unity (approximately 50GB) I discovered that the game is unplayable on my Surface Pro 3. Even on the lowest settings (which I was pretty content to

I don't know if it's a sign of a maturing computer user (less dogmatic) or if Microsoft is pushing out a better product (or both?), but one thing is certain, with each release of Windows there has been more incentive to use it. Having a Mac that is able to run both operating
