The Old Spice guy - Libraries
Pretty funny public service announcement from the Old Spice "spokesperson" about libraries
What is iPad?
Well, I don't know what an iPad is (just kidding) but this Ad surely reminds me of the 1990's era Apple Newton Ads that I've posted on this blog before. Surely it isn't just me thinking this, the web has been talking about it for the past week (yeah, I know, with school I don't have much time to be more prompt with these things ;-) ) Have a quick comparison between the new ad (iPad) and the old ad
N900 ad - and the matrix
A week (or two?) ago Engadget had a new ad for the Nokia N900, and they had a light tongue and cheek comment about the ad hinting toward mental illness. I had a different take on the ad. The whole aesthetic of the ad reminds me of the original matrix (crossed perhaps with the Australian show the hollowmen). I expected agent Smith to make the focus group participants lose their mouth of something
What iDon't, Droid Does
This past week we've had many, many sites do exposes on Motorola's Droid. The ad campaign that Verizon is using is kind of weird in that it reminds me of the Sega campaigns "Genesis does what nintendon't"The other thing that is weird about this ad campaign is that it's not geared toward the average joe. What does the average joe know (or want to know) about open development? or widgets? or running
Classical music - mobile phone style
I came across this ad a few weeks back but it was lingering in my starred items folder.I have to say that if this is actually a true undertaking, it's pretty amazing!According to Engadget, Vodafone NZ's Symphonia features 1000 cellphones syncing 53 different ringtone alerts from 2000 sent messages to reconstruct Tchaikovsky's 1812 overture
Windows Phone ad - stupid!
A while back I had starred this ad so that I could go back and see it.Well...I did, and boy is it stupid! The icons with legs - uber-creepy! Yeah, I know I can take microsoft word, excel and powerpoint documents with me, as well as have outlook and twitter on a windows mobile phone, but you couldn't come up with a better way of letting us know that? Apple's "there's an app for that" campaign is highly
I was waiting at the train station the other day when I saw the advertisement bellow. The text reads "America's most convenient bank. Maine to Florida"I don't know what language they are using, but I was under the impression that 'to' implied a continuum, including the exteremes and everything in between. The graphic clearly shows that it's NOT Maine to Florida because there are three states that
The pack that keeps you organized in the '00s ?
On the NewtonTalk list recently I came across this Newton ad from the '90s. It compares a '70s purse (or backpack?) to a Newton carrying case, Newton 130, Modem and software. The tag-line? "The pack that will keep you organized in the '90s"The Newton was quite an amazing device, and as a matter of fact it did keep my undergrad years organized, of course I did not purchase this advertised bundle
The new mac ad rocks!OK, so the boy genius thinks that the Mac vs. PC ads have jumped the shark, but this new Mac Ad is quite funny. While watching the ad I was thinking to myself "Is this Puddy? No! It can't be! Well it really looks like him!"...Well lo and behold it is indeed Patrick Warburton (the guy who plays Puddy, and the Tick)Personally I think the ad is great, but it doesn't address the cost
