Think Geek April Fool's
Last but not list, on the 2019 list of of April Fool's jokes is Think Geek. These were my favorite (and some times these things become reality!) I don't know what that string of numbers on on the Captain Marvel pager. Any Marvel fans out there to help me out?Captain Marvel Universal Pager (link)RETRO TECH FOR THE MODERN HEROPagers. Every cool 90’s kid had them, but what exactly
The Impossible Whopper
Burger Kind punks everyone who thought their Whoppers were made of real beef. Sadly, I think one of these days we will find out that fast food was not beef all along (and not, it won't be veggie burgers :p)
Screen Cleaner by Google Files
This April Fool's joke is from Google proper. While it's intended as humor...I could see self-cleaning glass in our future!
Roku Press Paws
This one was another interesting April Fool's that has caught my attention. I think what got me was the pet-appeal of the fake ad. Next year they should do something with cats ;-)
Another of my favorite April Fool's fake announcements from this year's crop of April Fool's Jokes, the persistent, real life, owl notification that keeps pestering you to practice your language skills on Duolingo ;-)
Continuing on with the April Fool's theme for this week, here is another one: An ad for the Honda "Pastport" (pun on their passport line of SUVs...) that rolls back the ameneties of the car to what existed in the 90s ;-)
STO: The Gorn Discovery

Along with the "artisanal" soundtrack for the game this year (something that seems to have become an annual tradition in STO), there was an announcement for a new (April Fool's) expansion of the game titled "The Gorn Discovery"There are a lot of humorous puns here (see announcement below) , but in all seriousness this would have been an interesting expansion. At the very least it's another starting
Google Tulip & Google Wind
This year's Google April Fool's joke...or at least one of them, is Google Tulip: using AI to translate plant communication to allow for human-plant communication. It was pretty funny ;-). While watching this yesterday, I also came across Google Wind from a couple of years ago, also from the same Google Netherlands team. The Netherlands team seems to have quite a lot of fun making
One last hoorah for April fool's!
OK, I lied - this will be the last 2018 post on April Fool's corporate jokes. The last two things come from Ikea, and from Sony. The Playstation Board game (would love to know the heuristics and game mechanics on that one!), and the Ikea (IoT?) Toilet and Laptop.
Bartender Elbow? - get Jagerbalm!
OK, this is the last of my April Fool's posts! I've never had Jagermeister, but this fake ad was pretty funny (another one I've shared a few times this week).
4d6&Me - What's your character?
Continuing with the parade of silly April Fool's Jokes, another one that I've watched, and shared, a few times already on other social media - genetic testing to show you what your character's abilities are in real life. It's a take on genetic testing that shows where your ancestor's are from, but with a D&D take on it. Go for charisma and intelligence!
Diploma in Human Survival
I think this is the only April Fool's joke to come out of an educational provider. Courses.com.au seems to be a course/job certification website that matches potential students with educational providers in Australia. This certificate of human survival is perfect for a post-apocalyptic world!
Quest Management Kit
Another April Fool's joke product from ThinkGeek I've watched at least 6 times thus far! I think the fact that it combines DnD and Office Space makes it hit the sweet spot of comedy :-)
Burger King's chocolate whopper
As April Fool's jokes go, this is so bad that it's good. I like the building of burger through sweet materials but I can't imagine eating this. Here is the materials video:
I must have watched this one at least 5 times already - pretty funny! Need a Gyro API soon ;-) Yes, this is another April Fool's joke.
Google's bad joke detector
More April Foolin' - with Google's Bad Joke Detector (seriously saves space!)
Only in Japan! (and for April Fools) :-)
The New T-Mobile Sidekick!
Continuing with the April Fool's parade, I actually had a good laugh at this one. The Sidekick was T-Mobile's brand for the Danger Hiptop (nice device, needs a comeback!), which is what this ad/fake product is referencing. That said, any fans of Get Smart will also appreciate the shoe-phone :-)
Today is a good day to learn Klingon!
Well...April Fool's is here, and Think Geek has not disappointed! I think I'll space these things out over the next week, but here is what caught my eye first: Klingon fridge magnets!
