Vacation lookback: Italy (Part I)

Part II of my little lookback on this year's vacation. I was wondering whether I should write about Greece first, or whether I should write about Italy. I thought that I should write about Italy first, since it was the somewhere in-between the Netherlands and Greece, rather than try to tackle Greece first (4 weeks), and then the shorter duration (13 days) in Italy.We got to Italy by way of  ship.

The internet....in 1995

I remember when "the internet" was a big thing and everyone was first talking about itThose graphics and operating systems are an awesome blast from the past! I wonder if there is an alternative universe out there where MacOS 8 (Copland) ever took form and the Apple Newton reigned supreme :-)

Attribution, in the open web

This past weekend I happened to see a post on twitter from a contact that I haven't seen in quite some time. This person is a photographer and earns a living from the photographs that she takes. It seemed to me that she was a bit annoyed that someone had used one of her photos on their blog, but had failed to give attribution.  My gut reaction to this was "how dare they!"
