Return of Castle Wolfenstein | Done!

Before playing the latest and greatest in Wolfenstein gaming, I ended up (last summer) playing through an original xbox era game (thanks, Backward Compatibility!) titled "Return to Castle Wolfenstein".  This game was originally released back in 2001, and I had tried playing a demo of it on my Power Mac G3 at the time, but the thing was so choppy I, disappointed, put it down (and totally forgot

The Ultimate History of Video Games: From Pong to Pokemon - The Story Behind the Craze That Touched Our Lives and Changed the World by Steven L. KentMy rating: 4 of 5 stars Not a bad book. Incredible adventures of van helsing III | done

A game I was playing concurrently with Zombi was another freebie from the free with Gold program.  This game was the Incredible Adventures of van Helsing III.  I am not sure if it was integral to the game for me to play parts I and II (I didn't), but even if it were, this game stood pretty good on its own.The game takes place in the fictional eastern european city of Borgovia, and the main

Victory is Life! The next Star Trek Online expansion

"Victory is Life" is a saying of the Jem'Hadar, one of the subjugated races of the Dominion (...or is it "in the Dominion"?) who are, basically, the warriors of that alliance.  It is also the name of the next expansion for Star Trek Online which is hitting PCs his coming summer (I sure hope it's not concurrent with the Summer Event on Risa!). Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare trailer

A new call of duty game is coming out soon! (well it might be out, but without a current generation console I can't play it yet).  This trailer looks good, and it appears to tackle the topic of alien invasion of earth :)  I wonder if it keeps within the continuity of the previous CoD games I've played...

In-flight entertainment...

OK...yes...I am still talking about Spain even though I've been back for two weeks now ;-)ID4: 2I am catching up on some things that I wanted to blog about while I was away - namely in-flight entertainment.  Heading over to Europe is usually sleep-time on the plane, so I don't get to see a ton of movies, but coming back we're going back in time (so to speak) and that allows for some additional

Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China | Done

A while back, during a Humble Store sale, I got Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China (as well as India and Russia). I had downloaded the China version of the Chronicles when I first got the game, but it had quickly gone into disuse since I was focusing mostly on Star Trek Online and on Bully on the xbox. While I was on vacation, with little access to good wifi, I ended up going to the only game

Starship drydock clean-up

While my alts in STO don't have a ton of ships, my main character has had both the main shipyard and the dry docks filled to capacity, leading to an inability of testing out new ships.  So...I guess it was time for some early-semester cleaning.  I went through and I got rid of ships that were either received by leveling up the character (Tier 1 through 5 ships), and ships that I could reclaim

A little gamercat humor for you :-).  While playing Star Trek Online I don't often think of achievements (since my achievements/medals aren't visible anywhere).  This past week though I started playing Bully again on my xbox and I started wondering what achievements exist, and what I need to do to get them :-)

Now that's some fine lootin' !

I received this month's lootcrate last night (woohoo!) and the physical goods were pretty cool.  A planet express ship model, star trek decals, a comic book for 4001 AD (not sure what it is, so I guess I'll need to read it) and some Rick & Morty stuff (which again, not familiar with the series, but considering I've received Rick & Morty gear before, I might need to check out the series).Recently,

Agents of Yesterday official trailer

I was not convinced that I would be starting up a new character for this expansion, but after this trailer I am pumped!  I may just create a new UFP character, do the faction specific missions, and then just use DOFF missions to level up to level 60.  I might even skip most missions that I've done (at least) 4 times already. I guess this character falls into the tertiary category because

Still going on with SWTOR...

You know... When I started playing SWTOR, I didn't think the game would be this long!  After playing Defiance for a bit (still playing, but not as much - maybe an hour or so per week), I thought that SWTOR would be light on story, and heavy on the end-game stuff (that requires people to subscribe for goodies). I am pretty happy to report that there is still a ton of story left in this game!I

One of the starter packs also comes packed with ships from  the TOS era, as well as some

Woohoo! EGO upgrades based on XP :)

I like Defiance (the game), but as someone who usually plays solo, and has not joined a clan, leveling up can be a pain since leveling up (EGO level) was tied to pursuits that you did throughout the game (kill this many of this, level of that many of that, do all the missions in this arc, and so on).  That works fine for those who want to pursue those game goals, but for me, as a solo point-and-shoot
