v6.2.3 - moving along, a point increase at a time

What's next, for gaming?

Now that Alone in the Dark is done, I am wondering what game I should pour my energy and attention into...  I couldn't decide, so I put in my Orange Box disc and I started playing Half-Life 2 (the original) and Portal. The graphics do seem a bit dated, but considering that I completely missed both games when they first came out, it doesn't bother me as much.  Half-Life 2 seems a little odd (there are a lot of WTF moments) since I haven't played the origin Half-Life. Still, the plot is interesting enough to keep me going.

I also tried Portal. I didn't know what I was expecting with portal, given how much Portal 2 was anticipated (and the great reviews it go) I was not expecting a puzzle game. That being said, I have a love-hate relationship with this game.  Just like most puzzles, I get so far before I get fatigued and I start to stink at it...

Finally, I gave Fable III a try.  I think under normal circumstanced this is a game that I would not have bought this game, but it came with the XBox holiday bundle that I bought on Black Friday, so I decided that I should try it. The game is actually quite interesting, and I think out of the three that I tried, this might actually be the one that I stick with until I beat it. Interestingly enough, the last game of this genre I played was Untold Legends: Brotherhood of the Blade on the PSP, another game that came bundled, and that I wouldn't have bought, but I enjoyed very much nevertheless. I've read the synopses of Fable I and Fable II on wikipedia, and I don't think I am missing much not playing them (as far as plot goes). Let's see how long this takes to complete :-)
