v6.2.3 - moving along, a point increase at a time

Television Tuesday: the Listener

For the past number of weeks I've been watching a new Canadian series called The Listener. Luckily NBC picked it up and it's now available on broadcast and on Hulu. The story reminds me a bit of the pretender - without so much of the chasing to get the main character back into an asylum (or whatever that center was).In any case, the main character is a paramedic with supernatural abilities - namely

Adieu, AvantGo

AvantGo is going away....Well OK, bad pun, but AvantGo is shutting down its services in about ten days. Before we could have the internet on our PDAs, and before the advent of smartphones (and RSS), there was AvantGo. AvantGo allows you to subscribe to channels of content from major providers (like newspapers and other news organizations) and if there weren't a channel for the content you wanted you

Blogpress: good but not feature complete

I've been messing around with blogpress for a couple of days now. I broke down and paid the $3 that the app costs in the AppStore (cash isn't quite flowing these days, blame the economy) Anyway, blogpress is actually quite nice in that it allows you to upload you own photos, use the iPhone's emoji , post to multiple blogs with one post and control tags and categories for your post. Oh, what I also

Retro Ads: Commodore 128

I don't remember where I came across this ad, but I thought it was worth while to share! The ad itself is for a Commodore 128 computer released in 1985. Now I have neither owned one of these, nor have I known anyone who has, but I really love the ad. The apple with an arrow on it on top of a bowler hat is just awesome. As far as I remember the C=128 never really sold that many units. I think that

The holiday on Wednesday was actully pretty nice. Sunny and rather warm. Great weather to sit out and enjoy the deck. WorldMate saves the day

I've been using WorldMate ever since it came out (on and off depending on what platform I've been on) and I love it! Granted I've never gotten the premium version that gives you travel times and such, but it would suffice it to say that WorldMate has been a standard install on all my Symbian phones.Well now it's coming to the iPhone and the company made this little animation to advertise the fact.

PSP is a Go!

Ah yes, I know - very bad pun! While the blog was on hiatus, E3 happened and Sony announced the PSP Go!, a portable version of their already portable Playstation Portable (PSP)! The difference here is that the PSP Go incorporates bluetooth and Flash based storage, and gives up on the UMD drive. The PSP Go is actually a pretty nice device! If I had some spare cash (and my PSP 1000 died) I would most

N80 on the Fritz!

After three years of daily use, my N80 finally gave up...or rather the display ribbon decided to give up. I am now stuck with a snow-white screen that shows me nothing, the D-pad does not work (most of the time) and the softkeys don't work (most of the time)...but on the upside I can still make and receive calls (sometimes)!I have decommissioned my trusty SonyEricsson P800 to act as my day-to-day
