This came out last week on the Onion News Network.Obviously it's a parody, but there is a little hint of truth in it, otherwise it wouldn't be funny. The take away lesson for this is this: replace mom with any other person you've friended and you don't know - if you don't take control of you privacy settings they will know things about you that you may not want them to know.
Panels are interesting, but...

The SonyEricsson Experia X2 was announced this week. I've always liked SE phones (even when they really stagnated and killed off the UIQ - but I digress) and it's nice to see them innovating again with other operating systems. The X2 seems like a nice device, but I would never buy it because it comes preloaded with windows mobile and panels, the new SE interface that they debuted with the X1, does not

Επιστροφή στα θρανία
Ήρθε και η Παρασκευή πριν αρχίσουν τα μαθήματα! Η αλήθεια είναι πως από την μία τρέχω στα φουλ να αρχίσει το τρίμηνο και να δω παλιά πρόσωπα, να μάθω κάτι καινούργιο και να ξαναμπώ στον «ρυθμό» του φοιτητή. Από την άλλη όμως

IT has always been an enabler, in my mind, however in looking at the 'real world', post MBA/MSIT, I get to see what professors warned us about. Some wise souls told us that IT should be an enabler for the firm, and not a gatekeeper. However, as we see in this Slate article, IT has assumed the role of the gatekeeper instead of sticking to that of the enabler.I've decided to pull a few quotes of interest
Manipulating the System
I was reading an article that I had started in my google reader last week called "What are we assessing". This reminds me a lot of my undergraduate days as a learner of the German Language (and any language that I had taken for that matter). The name of the game was learn enough grammar and vocabulary necessary to pass the test and the test after that, until the semester ends. This of course got

Over the weekend I was reading this article on Inside Higher Ed (maybe I should be posting over at multiliterratus, but oh well...)In any case, the author of this post talks about how how Wired's "The good enough revolution" pertains to academia. Personally I agree that some of what the author writes are quite valid arguments - but I would like to play devil's advocate for a moment from an IT management
