Metal Gear Peacewalker commercial - cardboard box
One of the funniest things in Metal Geat is hiding and moving in a cardboard box - as if the enemies don't notice a cardboard box moving about, or appearing out of nowhere. In any case, the Japanese commercial for MGS Peacewalker decided to poke some fun at this staple of Metal Geardom. Enjoy :-)

Funny story from last night. At around 10:30ish, when we were settling to go to bed (yeah, we're not night owls) the building fire alarm goes off. Kinda annoying, but we evacuated the building, onto the street, under a warm summer-ish sky. We checked the basements and such to see if there were a fire that we needed to be aware of (our alarm has gone off before, without fire or smoke).Anyway, we're
MicroSIMs, how fast will they be adopted?
So....Leaks of Apple's upcoming iPhone are out. I wonder if that is the final hardware design, or if this is just an engineering version to check out and test the main features of the phone. One of the notable things about this version of the phone (dubbed the iPhone HD) is its use of a MicroSIM, the same type of SIM that is being used in the iPad.Now there are adapters to convert this microSIM to

Goodbye to eRepublik! No, No, the site didn't go down, I just decided to stop playing the game! I started playing this game about a year ago (I think), I got several jobs, I participated in the liberation of e-Greece from e-Turkey (or is it e-Ottoman Empire?), I ran for elections (and lost), got a number of awards for being a hard worker and a super soldier and made the rank of General (woohoo!).

OK, so yesterday I wrote about the funny Greek captions on the iPad intro video on YouTube. I started transcribing the Greek, but two minutes in I got tired (too much work). The original video can be found on youtube (see previous post) and Engadget's English caption screenshots can be found here (click)Anyway - here is the Greek:Είναι αλήθεια επωφελέις για όλους κάτι
The iPad video, as captioned by Google - in GREEK
I came across this story from Engadget. If you head over to YouTube you can access some beta features such as automatic captioning of videos and automatic translation of said videos. Now, I had never viewed the iPad intro video, so this was all new to me. I clicked on the Closed Captioning to enable it and the English was somewhat amusing. The fun really kicked in when I clicked on Greek translation.

I saw this the other night when I got home after having seen it on Twitter (via @asteris).Honestly the situation seems like a major clusterfuck. It seems like a classic north south divide and the unfortunate (or just callous use of the PIGS acronym) is making things worse. -- Post From My iPhone
