Vintage Tech - Apple Newton

Ad from a computer magazine for the Newton 2100The Apple Newton is one of those devices that I had been keeping my eyes on for a while.  I wasn't sure when the original device was released - the original messagepad - but I know that it was out in the market when I came back from Greece.  While I was in Greece I couldn't really afford to spend money on computer magazines, as much as I wanted

Ghostbusters 2016 trailer looks great! :)

I had my doubts about the New Ghostbusters film (mostly because I thought they were going with the old ghostbusters just rehashed), but this seems like it's going to be a really good film picking up from where the original quartet left off!  Can't wait to see it :-)

Tablets are dead...not!

Every now and again I come across a piece of clickbait that I just can't help but to click on.  This past week I saw this piece on TechCrunch the other day, supposedly proclaiming that tablets are dead.  The main thesis of the article is that  since there wasn't a lot of brand new, innovative, product in the tablet lines at MWC (mobile world congress) that the tablets are now a commodity

It's super Tuesday! Go Vote!

I can't believe it's here!  Super Tuesday!  For those of you abroad, this is when a lot of states hold their primary elections (instead of having an election here and an election there in scattered form). This is usually when front-runner nominees show up.I can't believe that Trump is projected to win Massachusetts (I mean...seriously people!) Good thing I am independent and I can vote in

The gameboy - hardware autopsy

This is a fun little video dissecting the Nintendo GameBoy.  As a kid I wouldn't have cared, however as an undergraduate computer science major this would have been fascinating to know back in the late 90s :-)  I remember programming in x86 assembly for one of my classes (and creating hardware for that same course that the code would run on!) :-)
