The Tamperer feat. Maya - If You Buy This Record Your Life Will Be Better

Music Friday! This week's pick (reminiscing) is The Tamperer feat. Maya - If You Buy This Record Your Life Will Be Better.  I think that this was the first Tamperer song that I head that summer I returned to Greece after a long hiatus :-)

Renegades on final approach

Seems like the whole Paramount/CBS Lawsuit vs. Axanar is having additional ripple effects (at least that's my take on it). Along with the two cancelled fan productions I mentioned last week, Star Trek Renegades posted to the Kickstarter announcements yesterday some bittersweet news.  First, they will be making both episode 2 and episode 3 (now called Part I and II of the episode), even though

Still going on with SWTOR...

You know... When I started playing SWTOR, I didn't think the game would be this long!  After playing Defiance for a bit (still playing, but not as much - maybe an hour or so per week), I thought that SWTOR would be light on story, and heavy on the end-game stuff (that requires people to subscribe for goodies). I am pretty happy to report that there is still a ton of story left in this game!I

Mac Classic Schematic - the history version

I came across this the other day. It's a print with a cross-section of an Apple Mac Classic.  Inside this is (apparently) a miniature of the history and legacy of the Mac.  Pretty interesting (and it's about $44).  Maybe something for Christmas ;-)

Star Trek Online: Agents of Yesterday

Woah! The third major expansion to star trek online has been announced! Taking advantage of the 50th anniversary of Star Trek, Star Trek Online is  doing a TOS themed expansion. This sounds pretty exciting as players can start a character from the start and explore strange new worlds through that lens. One of the starter packs also comes packed with ships from  the TOS era, as well as some

Adieu Federation Rising...

Not very fresh news, but it seems that Federation Rising, the sequel to the Star Trek fan film "Horizon" has been mothballed. There was a lot of excitement about this but it seems that CBS's lawyers advised Tommy Kraft (the creator) to not pursue this project - assuming that the Axanar case is pending, and won't have its day in court until spring 2017... So...the count down has reached zero on the

Canadian wildfires 2016 :o

Alberta seems like a world away, and Fort McMurray even more so.  I remember a few years ago when I traveled up to Edmonton for the orientation of my EdD program at Athabascan University of seeing signs for Fort McMurray. Athabasca was 2 hours north of Edmonton, and Fort McMurray seemed like it was another few hours north (it's a large province).  While I've only been to Alberta once, being
