Review: Interviewing as Qualitative Research: A Guide for Researchers in Education and the Social Sciences

Interviewing as Qualitative Research: A Guide for Researchers in Education and the Social Sciences by Irving SeidmanMy rating: 5 of 5 stars Quite a good read on conducting interviews as part of educational research. It does seem to focus on phenomenological interviews, where the interview is the one and only approach, but it might be useful for other cases where interviews are one of many

Music Rewind: Mmmbop

😂LOL.

Of paradoxes, and politics

With the "Free Speech" rally happening in Boston today (and various other counterprotests), it seemed that this would be a good post for today - a report from other places already posted on facebook and other social media. Let's see who peaceful things are in Boston today. At least the police in Boston seem to have a better plan that those folks in NC, which I hope will keep folks safe.

Sev TNG: Measly is going to the Academy

I guess this one is for those who didn't like Wesley Crusher.  The alternative punchlines were all very mean-spirited toward Wesley, but this one was the one that I liked the best from all of them, and it feels a little more comic-strip-like: Sev Fleet's Insurance Company won't insure the Enterprize while you're on board. Review: Collaboration in Distance Education: International Case Studies

Collaboration in Distance Education: International Case Studies by Louise MoranMy rating: 3 of 5 stars Even though it's a little dated at this point, it was an interesting view into cross-organizational collaborations in distance education. I started reading this thinking that it was more about person-to-person collaboration, not necessarily institution-to-institution initiatives.

Dissertation haunts you

From PhD comics from a week or so ago...  One of the reasons I don't really want to go on vacation until my dissertation proposal (or heck, even until my data collection) is done.

Bugsy is back!

I don't fully get this comic strip, but the funny thing is that I recognized the character (Bugsy) even though I've only really played about 5 minutes of the game on someone else's console...around 20 years ago.

Review: Star Trek Volume 1

Star Trek Volume 1 by Steve MolnarMy rating: 4 of 5 stars Both stories in this volume are titled after TOS episodes...which not surprisingly were comic adaptations of classic TOS episodes. As I was reading this collection I was getting mental images of the actual episodes and I was wondering why.  I a quick stop at Memory Alpha told me why! Overall this was not bad, but I think I was

Music Rewind - Walking on the sun
