I came across this comic strip a week or so ago (but of course I forgot to post). It reminded me of my own (sometimes misplaced) nostalgia for older games. They were marvelous for their time, but really hard to go back to these days (unless you are very persistent).

I was reminded of this song this past week (usually comes to mind when technology misbehaves and you have to push a button :p )

I somehow think that this is not what Reed had in mind ;-)(original archive here)

Networked Communities: Strategies for Digital Collaboration by Sylvie AlbertMy rating: 2 of 5 stars It was an OK book. Definitely focuses more on the organizational and managerial aspects of networked communities (which aren't of much use to me at the moment). There were some interesting nuggets of information buried throughout the book if you looked carefully enough. I am kind

Group Cognition: Computer Support for Building Collaborative Knowledge by Gerry StahlMy rating: 3 of 5 stars Enlightening but I thought it was a bit imbalanced. The theoretical pieces of the book were very interesting (and dense). I tried getting through these chapters in a manner of days and I don't think I got everything (or at least things seem a little fuzzy at the moment). That
Azure Avenger
This past weekend in Star Trek Online the Azure Nebula queue was the featured queue for group missions, which meant this was a good opportunity to earn an accolade that I haven't been able to get since I started going on the accolade hunt (mostly because people weren't queuing up for the Azure Nebula mission)In this mission... (from the STO wiki):After the briefing, the team will have twelve
Adieu AIM!
So...I guess now that Verizon owns AOL it's strategically killing off old products. The most recent product on the chopping block is AIM (AOL Instant Message. On December 15th of this year AIM will be no more, and it will be joining Yahoo! Messenger (classic) up in Valhalla. I didn't use this in high school, but many of my classmates did. After hanging out after school, many logged onto

It's hard to believe that it's been 30 years since Street Fighter was originally released... I am also surprised that there is no Xbox One release for the game. I guess I will be playing it on Steam...(at some point in the way way way future)
Sev TNG: choose a door, any door.
Back in the day this seemed funny (just for the sake of being funny). I think these days (especially with what's been happening in the world) it seems like a good episode of trek in the making... (you know, the whole exploring social and political issues of the day through the lens of scifi)(original archive here)

Star Trek: Gold Key Archives Volume 1 by Arnold DrakeMy rating: 2 of 5 stars As a piece of cultural history this was OK. Some interesting stories, but they read more like the off-brand Kirk, Spock, and McCoy... Perhaps think of them as Kork, Speck, and McKay of the series called "Star Blazing" and you're good to enjoy without feeling weird about "space esperanto" and going to a different
