Virtually Connecting at NMC - with Bryan Alexander
A bit of personal documenting this week, posting some videos of virtually connecting sessions from last week's NMC 2017 summer conference. This was my second virtually connecting series with me as one of the onsite buddies, and this was a fun talk with Bryan Alexander. I've been a virtual and an onsite buddy for a while now, and I still haven't gotten the timings right! I guess I have more
EDDE 806 - Post X - it marks the spot!

This past Thursday we had our official EDDE 806 session (on Monday, Norine did a mock proposal defense, which I wasn't able to attend, but luckily it's archived for later viewing). In any case, in this session we heard from Renate who reported in on her ideas for a dissertation topic, and there were a ton of interesting things about process that were shared by Susan and others.Renate is looking to
EDDE 806 - Post IX - About that 'in-process' presentation...
Yesterday evening I presented where I currently am in my dissertation proposal. I am not sure if Susan was joking or not about 2, 3, 4 years being the 'in process' time to get a dissertation done and defended, but I certainly hope that it's not that long! I am aiming for May 2019 at the latest for mine. That said, earlier this week I did a few dry runs for the presentation I did last evening,

#DigPed PEI with Amy Collier
Tue, Jul 19 2016 02:00 | #digped, #vconnecting, instructionalDesign, recording, unconference, youtube
I am not sure why my Surface Pro 3 camera decided to hyper correct the lighting in my home office, but it seems that the only way for me to be properly lit was to look at my secondary monitor, which gives the appearance of sidetalking... Oh well. It was a good session nevertheless :)
#DigPed PEI Unconference with Robin DeRosa and Daniel Lynds
Just a little documentation of some audio-visual texts that I was part of this past week. Lots of fun, and mentally stimulating, despite the technical issues I had :-) Here is a session I buddied for last week with Robin DeRosa and Daniel Lynds from DigPed Lab PEI

First attempt at recording lectures...
I feel like this took forever to do, but it's finally done!Last November we had a guest lecturer, Dr. Bessie Dendrinos, from the National and Kapodistrian Univerity of Athens, come speak to us on the subject of "Global Economy and the Urgent Need for Languages: American and European responses to foreign language learning exigency". I recorded the video on a FlipCam (remember those?) and edited
What's this about connectivism then?

Well, semester is almost over! I think that I only have about 10 more days left in my 3rd EdD semester. There must be a punchline joke here, but I am not finding it at the moment ;-) Need some more sleep! That said, for the third assignment I decided to tackle a topic that I was fairly familiar with - connectivism. My buddy for this assignment and I worked together to put together

Alright, so I guess we are entering the final frontier of #rhizo14 here, with week 11. Perhaps I should stop counting weeks and call this series of posts "This Week in Rhizo14" ;-) Last week I missed some discussions on P2PU, which I've gone back and answered some questions directed to me, but I think this ends my formal mingling in P2PU for Rhizo14 and I will focus more one the PLE aspect
