While this isn't quite a "year in review," it's interesting to grab a snapshot of various Twitter interactions this time of year and do a year-to-year comparison (usernames for this year at the end of the post). I am not sure what time period the Twitter Circle application is sampling to generate this, but I do wonder how much the migration to mastodon-based services has impacted this year's

 I was logging into the web-client for Tumblr recently when I saw this funny troll for Twitter's (short-lived?) blue tick program 😂

 'Tis the time of year when various social media platforms do a  year-in-review, or have different plug-ins that give you some stats anyway.  I'll start with Twitter's festive Christmas tree version of who I've (apparently) interacted with over the month of December.  I don't recognize some of these profile pics🤔

This past weekend I was doing some summer cleanup of various Web 2.0 services and I was planning on checking up Ping.fm to see if I needed to clean up anything in my settings. Ironically, the networks that I had as backups to twitter (such as Jaiku, youare and posterous) have all either been bought out and closed, or have just ceased operations

I was listening to Leo Laporte on Twit the other day and he and Robert Scoble were talking about how great Twitter is (all hacking of the twitter homepage aside) when trying to find some information. You just throw out your query into the twittersphere (is that even a word?) and your followers will answer it. Well, this might work for celebrities, but does it work the the average-joe-twitterer?
