Force Recon Marine Cruz Manuelos (Laysla de Oliveira) is recruited into the CIA's Lioness program and tasked with befriending the daughter of a terrorist financier. Apparently, the series is based on a real-life CIA program Joe (Zoe Saldana), the station chief of the Lioness program, and is responsible for training, managing, and leading the female operatives. As with most military and espionage-based shows, things don't go exactly as planned, so this show has you on the edge of your seat.  What got me interested in the show was Zoe Saldana (a more famous actor I assume is what gets most folks interested in new shows), but the main character is really Cruz. Can't wait for season 2!

I should have written this when I first finished the show because I can't remember much of the actual espionage plot. The thing that stands out is Cruz's traumatic experiences of being in a gang and joining the marines to escape that. Cruz seems to have a deathwish because the spec ops stuff she does are a bit daring (I suppose you'd need to be a little daring to do this sort of thing but still...)

Season two should be coming out, so why not give it a try?
