Last fall I won a pre-release copy of the book Half-Made World by Felix Gilman - this was through GoodReads.com. Sadly with all the homework and school reading I didn't really get to read the book right away.  Well, with school over I was able to finally pick up the book and read it. I thought that since I do not read a lot of fiction it would be a good change of pace for my reading habits.

The book was quite interesting, it takes place in a Wild West type of environment but there is an element of steampunk and of spirits that inhabit or control the human body. I could really imagine this as a manga book in the same style as Priest.  The story was good and entertaining. around the half-way mark the book did lose some steam (no pun intended), but it kept going, it wasn't a catastrophic failure. [Spoiler alert] My only problem with the book was that there was no satisfactory end. We have no idea what really happened to any of the three main characters, or what the secret was, and we have a couple new characters introduced in the last chapter as if there is going to be a sequel (but I haven't seen any news of a sequel yet)
