Not very fresh news, but it seems that Federation Rising, the sequel to the Star Trek fan film "Horizon" has been mothballed. There was a lot of excitement about this but it seems that CBS's lawyers advised Tommy Kraft (the creator) to not pursue this project - assuming that the Axanar case is pending, and won't have its day in court until spring 2017... So...the count down has reached zero on the Federation Rising page...but not news is coming.  Too bad!

Another fan film, one that I didn't know about before, seems to have also called it quits just anticipating legal calamities. Star Trek: Constellation, which was going to be a prequel series to the original series episode "The Doomsday machine" decided to step back amidst all of this craziness. The plot would have had "Captain Matt Decker is thrown into battle with his brand new crew at the Mirdani Space Station, his life's mission takes a drastic turn in a frantic search against an unknown enemy." (from the Facebook page).

Too bad.  These would have been interested to see!  I do wonder if this also means that Renegades will call it quits after episode 2 is done and out...
