OK, OK!

Stargate Universe reeks of the same stench as Star Trek Voyager. Voyager at least had a fully functional ship (with the exception of supplies if I am not mistaken), whereas the Destiny (the ship on SGU) is battered and beaten and in serious need of a spacedock (which they don't have).

Still, it is a nice addition to the Stargate franchise, and I look forward to many, many seasons. At least they don't have an annoying ensign that keeps asking "are we home yet?" - give it time I guess ;-)

I do wonder if Stargate is the Star Trek of the 90s and after this series ends we'll see more series branded with the Stargate name. Personally I would like to see a new Star Trek series, and possibly a Farscape spin off. Babylon 5 does have potential if they get some updated graphics (no more amiga based graphics, please!) and better plotlines and dialogue (so in other words, get rid of Michael Straczynski).

Sooo... yeah... looking forward to SGU - and I hope we see some aliens soon! (I wonder how long it's going to be until we get introduced to this series' arch-nemesis)
