This past weekend I was giving Google Latitude a second chance. When I used it the first time around it had a bit of a hard time finding my location. While technically I was within that big giant circle (I guess that was where the cell tower was), I do have an iPhone IIIgs which does have a built in GPS.

In other apps that use my location (like the maps app) it finds my location precisely, switch over to google latitude (within the browser) and I get the big giant circle. I wonder if the API isn't there for webapps to get hold of your real location, only your approximate location.

This makes google latitude, the webapp, not that useful. While I could walk to the location where the pin is on the map, it would take me 10 minutes.

What would make sense? Make google latitude part of the maps application and call it a day
