Looks like Mozilla is shutting down Pocket (originally known as "Read it later").

The move is not unexpected, if you've been paying attention to Mozilla's developments over the past few years.  They've divested from the Open Badges things that they helped create, they divested from the VR stuff they also created, and now they are killing off another legitimately useful tools.  In their blog, they write that "new features like Tab Groups and enhanced bookmarks now provide built-in ways to manage reading lists easily."  Eh...not quite, at least not in my usage.  I really loved saving things for later reading, beyond a bookmark. Having things sync onto my tablet and phone meant that I could catch up on an article when I am not at a computer. Meanwhile, I did a lot of reading via text-to-speech, which Pocket was great at (for the most part). In addition to Pocket being free, one of the reasons I switched from Instapaper all those years ago was that Pocket did TTS, which was and is important to me. I think Instapaper got that functionality, but it's behind a paywall.  Now, there's something to be said about paying for services you use...but...IDK...feels off...

Now I am looking at Instapaper again, and Raindrop.io while I am at it.  I did momentarily look into Diigo's direction again, but their Android app is out of date, and no longer in the Play Store.  Diigo seems moribund too. End of an era...
