Castlevania - the TV Series!

It seems like Netflix  has a Belmont up its sleeve!  Soon (I hope) an anime-style Castlevania series will be hitting Netflix.  I think that this teaser trailer is well done (hope the series is well done too!).  I wonder how they will tackle the lore...

seaQuest DSV | Done

When I returned from Greece (back, a long long time ago...) a seaQuest DSV was a TV show that I happened to catch while channel surfing, but I never really watched it when it aired.  Now with Netflix I thought it was a good time to catch up.  Initially I called the show "underwater star trek" but with all the crazyness that the writers threw at the show I don't think it ended up being underwater

Revolution story wrap up - a bit of a let-down

[Spoilers] Recently I found the series of four digital  comics which wrap up the television series Revolution which I has been watching on Netflix (see related post from a week or so ago).  The second season ended in a bit of a cliffhanger, so the story was just dangling out there.  The linked video on youtube is a commentary by the writers on the first comic book. So, what happens in

Daredevil | Season 2 done!

The other day I finished off watching Daredevil season 2 on Netflix.  I managed to steer clear of all of the spoilers  from friends and acquaintances on facebook talking about this.   In season 1 the main introductions (as far as super heroes and super villains go) were the Daredevil and the Kingpin.  This time around we were introduced to the Punisher, and got his backstory,

Daredevil Season 1 | Done

I am most likely late to the party, but recently (just as season 2 was released) I started watching Daredevil on netflix.  I was curious to watch this made-for-streaming show, but the informal reviews I'd heard from friends made it sound marginal (at best).  In any case, having finished season 1 (spoilers to follow) I can say that I am actually liking this show much more than I thought I

Quantum Leap

Recently I finished watching the show Quantum Leap. The show ran from 1989 to 1993, which means that I barely missed it when I returned to the US, and no television channel was showing it in Greece prior to that. However, it was one of those shows that was referenced by the teachers when I was in high school, and by others in general society. This means that I also missed any references made to that

Thoughts on the new xbox interface

When I came home yesterday I fired up my xbox 360 to get the new OS update that gives me the Metro style UI. In the grand scheme of things I do like it. I think it's high time that Microsoft looked at its product offerings and designed some consistency (or at least a common theme) across its services. The desktop and Window metaphor is getting a bit stale - it's still useful, but not in all contexts

Daybreak - interesting series

The other day I finished watching the series Daybreak on Netflix. The series is only 13 episodes, so I guess it was cancelled, but at least the story was wrapped up somewhat neatly.  The idea behind the story is police-drama meets groundhog day: a day keeps repeating and repeating until something happens to stop it from repeating. In this story the main character is framed for murdering a District

Thoughts on some recent movies

This past weekend was quite a movie weekend for me.  I honestly have not seen that many movies in a while!  Some were good, and some were just plain disappointing!  Let me start off with my MAJOR disappointment:  Resident Evil Afterlife.  I really had high hopes for this movie. I meant to see it in the theaters, in 3D, but I ended up missing it. I think I was lucky that I did
