Well here's a random, I just realized that in the many years that I've had my PowerBook I have never once used the PC-card slot.

Well,... OK, I used it once! I plugged in a network adapter to see how it worked! At that point I had my PowerBook for four years and I was curious about the slot.

So how did this random thought come about? I was thinking about the demise of the Express Card slot on the MacBook Pro line of computers and how some people lamented the fact that it was replaced with an SD card slot. I personally think that I would use the SD slot much more often than an Express Card slot (based on my use of the PC-card slot on my PowerBook).

Even though I have a sony camera (which uses Memory Stick), I do have a few SD cards from when I used Windows Mobile devices. With the SD card slot I could have a permanent 2GB card (or more!) in the MacBook Pro and use time machine or automator to keep backups of some of my more important documents (like the rapidweaver site ;-) ).
