Dusting off this old post from April 2020! I had started to write this up back then, but then it got stuck in my drafts.  Anywho...here's another game that I've reached the end-game! huzzah! (sarcasm).

So, what is Star Trek Timelines?  Star Trek Timelines is a mobile free-to-play game that takes place in the Star Trek Universe. I first started playing this on my old iPad 2 (back when that was cutting edge tech, I think), but eventually the iPad got a bit sluggish, and I wasn't particularly enjoying the gameplay.  The game is a collectible card game where you collect cards of star trek characters throughout the multiverse.  These cards have a variety of stats and you can use them to complete story missions, events, and PVP. 

When the game came to Steam, I decided to give it a try again, probably around 2018. I also installed it on my new android tablet. The game's state is saved on the internet, so you can pick up your play session between devices. Sadly, it did not remember my iPad playthrough, but that's fine.  The stories were interesting, but it seems like the developers decided to stop making new missions and focus on limited-time events (similar to what I saw on Assassin's Creed: Rebellion).  After a little while, it just got boring and repetitive, so I ended up uninstalling it from my tablet, and a few days ago I just got rid of it from my PC. There is something interesting about this game, but limited-time events that reward player cards are problematic for long-term engagement. The events do have some story elements, but they are easily forgettable.  Now, if there were a way to buy actual trading cards from what you unlocked in-game...now that would be interesting!

Overall, this was a 7/10
