Well... I didn't think I'd be migrating from one Mastodon server to another one so soon (I just created the account this past spring!), but here we are! 🙄 I joined this particular server because it seemed like this was where fellow academics were going after they left Twitter (or while they were co-establishing their presence on Mastodon). I should have read the prohibitions a bit more carefully

 While this isn't quite a "year in review," it's interesting to grab a snapshot of various Twitter interactions this time of year and do a year-to-year comparison (usernames for this year at the end of the post). I am not sure what time period the Twitter Circle application is sampling to generate this, but I do wonder how much the migration to mastodon-based services has impacted this year's

Like any good techie, I've been playing with Mastodon these past couple of weeks, now that Melon Husk has purchased Twitter.  Having a space on another microblogging platform isn't a bad idea, in case you want to pull the ripcord on the parachute if and when Twitter goes down in flames.  I tried Mastodon back in 2016 (or was it 2017?) when it was new, and I ended up deleting my account.
