Well, it's that time of year! This is the time of year that many social media services use your data to create a Year In Review for the things you did on their platform. My cynical side is thinking that this is one of those "hey! pay attention to this, and not what else we do with your data" but I'll take it...I guess!

I've been thinking about moving away from GoodReads over this past year, something like BookWyrm, but my Fediverse experience so far has been pretty...unique!  Mastodon is fine, but the majority of my old edtech troublemakers aren't on it.  Luckily a few of us joined a DS106 server (thanks, Jim! 😄) but the vast majority of folks I interact with on there are new folks.  Not that I don't want to meet new people on BookWyrm, but I don't want to give up my old social network.  Oh well, a thought for another post.

One of the last books I read in 2024 was a book about the development of ENIAC. It's interesting to see how much of that story reverberates even today.
