It's time for the annual holiday party at work. I did not see any invitations to submit entries for the gingerbread house competition (something that was done before the pandemic), so I suspect no gingerbread houses this year.  Maybe next year ;-)

Happy Fourth of July to anyone who is reading this!  It's a bit of an odd year (as if 2020 wasn't odd enough).  Usually, on July 3rd we can hear the band and audio engineers do some test runs of the music that they will be playing on July 4th, and on the 4th it's live music all day (well, between 10am and 9pm when the fireworks display ends).  This year we have none of that. Hopefully,

One of my favorite seasonal STO events is here: Q's winter wonderland - where mischievous Q transports you to a...ermmm...winter wonderland...complete with winter events, winter clothing, and a new limited edition ship that you can claim. The Kramp'Ihr This year's addition to the game is the Kramp'Ihr - melding human winter-time monsters like the Krampus with Klingon undead (the Fekh'Ihr). 

This came across my feeds sometime during Thanksgiving, so in a sense it's a bit late, but considering that Turkeys are traditional in quite a few norther European cultures for Christmas, I might be a little early ;-).  Some humorous commentary on Ajit Pai the current FCC chairman (and subsequently the corporatecracy...or just corpocracy that's ruling us these days) and the upcoming fight

This made me smile this past weekend :-) I've heard of butterball turkeys in the past, but have never really bothered to look up what makes the different from 'regular' turkeys
