You know... When I started playing SWTOR, I didn't think the game would be this long!  After playing Defiance for a bit (still playing, but not as much - maybe an hour or so per week), I thought that SWTOR would be light on story, and heavy on the end-game stuff (that requires people to subscribe for goodies). I am pretty happy to report that there is still a ton of story left in this game! I

I came across this the other day. It's a print with a cross-section of an Apple Mac Classic.  Inside this is (apparently) a miniature of the history and legacy of the Mac.  Pretty interesting (and it's about $44).  Maybe something for Christmas ;-)

I love this Independence Day sequel promo.  Looks and feels like a news reporting segment. It gets you immersed into the alternative reality of the world. Can't wait for the movie to hit theaters!

Woah! The third major expansion to star trek online has been announced! Taking advantage of the 50th anniversary of Star Trek, Star Trek Online is  doing a TOS themed expansion. This sounds pretty exciting as players can start a character from the start and explore strange new worlds through that lens. One of the starter packs also comes packed with ships from  the TOS era, as well

Not very fresh news, but it seems that Federation Rising, the sequel to the Star Trek fan film "Horizon" has been mothballed. There was a lot of excitement about this but it seems that CBS's lawyers advised Tommy Kraft (the creator) to not pursue this project - assuming that the Axanar case is pending, and won't have its day in court until spring 2017... So...the count down has reached zero

Alberta seems like a world away, and Fort McMurray even more so.  I remember a few years ago when I traveled up to Edmonton for the orientation of my EdD program at Athabascan University of seeing signs for Fort McMurray.
