Generally speaking, the Fable games were fine.  I enjoyed playing them, but I don't run out and play every Fable game (like I do for assassin's creed...). I played Fable II, Fable III, and Fable Anniversary.  I skipped Fable Journey because I didn't have a Kinect. I was going to skip this one, but I recognized Richard Ayode's voice, so...I guess I'll be playing this one eventually ;-)

 This past spring I got an Oculus 2 to play more with VR.  The technology isn't new to me, I've had my first VR experiences in high school in the late 90s with those clunky enclosures that we used to have (and probably still do?).  I meant to post a little something about this when Microsoft made the announcement last most (wow...it's been a month?!) - but oh well.  Here we are now!While Star Wars isn't my go-to space opera, this does look like a fun game that I would play :-). If this is a Series X/S-only game, I might be adding it to the list of games for when I upgrade my console :-)

Here's a game a where I completed the main campaign recently.  I completed this campaign on  6/14/2023, and I thought I'd jot down some thoughts.For the longest period of time I avoided starting this game because it needed to be connected to the internet, which I thought meant that I needed to have an active XBox Live subscription (which I don't have).  I decided to give it a try though

I don't often get excited about Star Trek computer games. The last one I enjoyed was "A Final Unity" back in the MacOS 8 days. The JJ-Trek game that came out around 2009 seemed like a shooter dressed up in a Star Trek skin.  Resurgence seems different! A bit pumped for it.

Defiance, the MMO that was tied in with the SyFy show with the same name, has been gone for a while now, its servers shut down before COVID hit (from what I remember). That doesn't prevent some intrepid fans from brining the game back as a solo, offline, game.  I think there's probably a lot more work to do, but this looks mighty promising!  I would love to play this game again, even without

Another fun Copland discovery.  I've always wanted to run Copland in an emulator, even since I found a copy on a Caraccho server back in the early 2000s, but according to the details, you always needed a debug machine to have your Copland machine tethered to because it was so unstable. It's interesting to live vicariously through others who played with this ;-) 

I remember the Computer Chronicles on my local PBS station.Pretty cool to discover some of these old Copland Demos (even though Apple totally botched that potential future). In some alternate universe, Copland forms the basis for MacOS X 😅

I don't often pay attention to dev-conferences these days, but every so often something catches my eye.  This time around it was Google's annual I/O event where new devices were announced.  The Pixel 7a looks interesting. It looks like a solid replacement for my aging Moto Z3, but it's still a slab of glass.  It seems like a lot of the cool stuff for this phone is under the hood in Android

Here's another Reddit find in the r/vintagecomputing subreddit.  What if MacOS had support for Vintage (aka obsolete) Mac hardware, such as the Mac Plus?  It might look a  little something like this! It's always fun to look a bit at the alt-history of computing :-). I wonder what the MacOS would have looked like today if Apple had retained the Platinum look!
