Protectors by Kirsten Beyer My rating: 4 of 5 stars Last book of 2021 😂Interesting story, and interesting to see another federation-type organization in the Delta quadrant but without all the tech of the federation. The story expands upon something (I think) we saw briefly screen. Cool idea, but I do question the "let's stay in the Delta quadrant and explore"

 Yes, I still use swarm (although I still prefer the old name: Foursquare). 2021, unsurprisingly, was another year of staying local.  The most frequented places of the year is all the dog park visits that I had for Fred 😂, and the places I went walking to be away from humans yet still stretch my legs a bit.

This season sees the team go to Gotham! We get to see old favorites, like Barbara Gordon (now police commissioner) and Old Man Wayne, who is still haunted by his past. Interestingly enough the joker is still around! The Eternal Tide by Kirsten Beyer My rating: 5 of 5 stars Man, this relaunch series does have a lot of death!  Each book seems to have someone central dying!  Well, that's an end of an era!  Old Blackberry devices no longer function as of yesterday!  I remember the Blackberry craze well.  At the time (circa 2004-2005) the Blackberry craze was pretty strong on my campus with everyone of any "importance" on campus having one (subsidized by the campus of course). Well, I far exceeded my anticipated books to-read in 2021, but many of them were comic books :-) I did read a few things for class, and a few other fiction and non-fiction alike for pleasure, but many comics were read.  I had wanted to finish the relaunch Star Trek Voyager series but that didn't happen.  Definitely in 2022!

Continuing on with the cards-based year-in-review theme, here's just some odd stats from Reddit.  I guess the lesson here is that I scroll a lot... (or maybe I subscribe to too many subreddits)...I am also surprised at the Karma I got in my town's subreddit. I also liked the trading-card theme (which I didn't post) that came up as part of this.

It seems like the 2021 trend in social media year-in-review stats was various cards that you scroll through on your tablet or phone. This one is from the app TV Time that I use to mark my TV viewing.  I suspect that the numbers are off since I marked some TV series as watched just to get them off my pending list (things like Diners, Driven-ins and Dives that seem to be going to revisit old spots
